Hi, my family and I always take our summer vacation to St. Augustine, Florida. Normally, we go on ghost tours around downtown, but this year we took one out to the lighthouse. This was also the first year I had a digital camera. Our tour guide said that digital photographs can pick things up that can not be seen with the human eye. Anyway, I was just taking random pictures, and I got a very weird image. It is a picture of a tree, but what I want to know is what is the glowing string around it? There were no fireworks or anything that night, I don't really believe in ghosts. After I looked at the picture, I went up to the tree and there was nothing there. The link is below.

  1. looks creepy... might be a spirit.

  2. Don't worry! That's probably the light reflecting off of an item in the area.

  3. I would say that it could be a reflection of something, but you can see more in the background, so most likely it may be a real live ghost.

  4. So no one is going to say this photo is so dark its hard to see anything huh?

Well unless you can produce a better pic it looks just like tons of pictures I've tried to take in low light.  Even a stray lightning but could have caused that.

  5. Totally spectacular!  I refere to them as "energy  bolts",kinda like the orbs with a attitude.I have only gotten three in the last thirty years. They can be called" fairy s,pixies,".They seem to float around us without are  knowing  or without are knowledge. But every once in a while, we get a glimps of a very special world, beyound our own, where energy is the norm of your form, and fairys and pixies were blessings in are gardens and in are childrens imaginations,an creekside friends. Its all on how you look at it!Nice shot....Blessed be....................!

  6. I have those in my ghost photos too //i think its ectoplasm

  7. firefly or lighter or those magnetic jewelry that flash.

  8. it must be a ghostly ORB

orb is a smoky apparision. mostly seen at ghostly places

some of them u can see with ur eyes, and some cannot be seen

ur guide has said the correct thing that some things can be picked by the cam

this is wat u just did...some orbs, or ghosts can be captured by cameras

  9. I had a lot of pictures I took years ago had something like that till I got a new digital cameras. The camera was messedup for a sec

  10. Your camera flashed to expose the tree, but you probably had on a "night scene with flash" setting, so the camera continued to expose after the picture was "over".  The "string" is a background light that went "up" as you lowered the camera.

  11. I would say a fire fly.

  12. Most digital cameras are pretty bad at taking any kind of picture of something that is in motion, or while the camera is in motion. If at the same time you took that picture you twitched or jerked just the right direction, it would have that kind of affect.

Thats just my take. Maybe someone else will have a better answer.

Sounds like you have some fun summer vacations though! I'm jealous.

  13. that is just the light reflecting off of something.

  14. Well, it's possible that your camera is damaged, or maybe that "string" is a reflection on the lens of your camera...

I really don't think that that light is something paranormal, I've seen it before, and always the professional analysis says that it's a reflection, don't worry...

    Mr Google

  15. Hmmm...... Interesting Pic

At first glance I would say that it was simply camera movement and a bug flying past as the flash went off.

But ........  If you look closely at the pic you can see that whatever caused the trail has gone in front of the trunk then in behind some branches and the main trunk again.  Could still be a bug though, but some people would call this a vortex.

Take enough photos of a night and you will get pics like this.  Personally, I dont think it is paranormal, just a bug or something.

  16. Its interesting, but I'm saying its insects, probably a couple of moths(since I see two different line sources) reflecting your flash and being stretched by the shutter speed.

  17. it could be a smudge.... but it really could be a ghost i swear on my life the two houses i own and live in is haunted
