  1. Because Mao thought that more people would give more power to the country, it was his idea for people to have more baby!!

Olympics started because of a legend when a young man died after running hundreds of miles to deliver the news of their troops victory.

Beijing was chosen because the Chinese government promised a healthy

and clean city for the event!! One World, One Dream!! Go, go, China!!!

  2. Asking how bad the pollution in Beijing is like asking how other cities around the world where polluted before they made there own environmental laws. Yep its bad, some wear masks come winter time.

In the last 10 years China started thinking about how to get its act together and said to itselfs how can I turn itself into a better country.

2 things some to mind growth and modernisation.

Unfortunely like many developed countries throughout history this is a transgressional phase. In other to grow and modernise you need the materials, placing such environmental laws on a developing country would only hinder its grow and may be worse for it in the long run.

Industrial nations do have the capital, energy, resources and the technology to research and build greener factories and energy sources. Developing counties along with third world counties on the other hand do not, and because of this lack they will tend to opt for cheaper less greener method until they can make that jump to more greener more efficient methods.

However with that mind China is pushing ahead in some areas of green laws, like the banning of free plastic bags, it has a large fleet of fuel cell public buses, many factories and buildings are being build have solar technology incorporated into them, it was one of the largest wind turbine networks in the world and is currently has plans to build an experiential fusion reactor.

However with all that said, China can still do a lot to improve its pollution for starters ban and enforce fines on the e-junk polluters, keep on writing its environmental laws, keep on upgrading its factories and so on and so forth.

  3. Because the committe voted bejing as the next olympic.

You can see the smog in the sky due to the cars, factories, and other industrial companies

    pretty bad.

the olympics moves around, and is held in a different country every 4 years.

    it's sort of like,  it's China's turn.

they were originally held in ancient Greece.

then around 1900, some folks thought it would be a good way to promote friendship between different countries.

btw, i'd heard the smog was bad, but hadn't seen.

google  beijing smog  found these images.
