Twilighters , I seek for your explanation.

Can you explain to me how Edward and Bella are in love?

Because , i seriously don't get it.

I mean , Bella wouldn't have looked in Edward if he was ugly , and he wouldn't have tried to talk to her , if he couldn't read her thoughts , or her blood wouldn't smell well to him.

They had one conversation ,and they're in love.

Their relationship is so unrealistic , so I find it quite ridiculous for some people to think they're actually in love.

What I think is that they're not feeling love. It's obsession and addiction.

Thoughts?

xx Thanks

  1. Exactly! They fell in love because she smelled nice and hes gorgeous? wtf? Yes twilighters, I'm anxious to read the answers.

  2. He wouldn't have introduced himself because he was a total loner at school. He would have no motive to go after her. You are right; this story's love is shallow and cliche. I'm glad so many people have come to their sense are realized this.

  3. This is what I always thought, but it's soooo cliched. What they feel is vampiric lust, not love. The two are completely different. I admit anybody would feel lust for edward, but never love. What makes Bella special? Nothing.

  4. I was wondering the same thing but didn't want to waste a question on it. I actually went back into Twilight just in case I missed that part.

I think some people will tell you it was just love at first sight, or that love works in mysterious ways. It was more an obsession for the both of them, more lust than love. What you said is true: If he weren't good looking and she wasn't delicious they wouldn't have noticed each other. He was just curious why he couldn't read her mind.

It's the same concept as imprinting. The werewolves find a "soul mate" whom they are unconditionally devoted to for the rest of their lives. The vampires have these human "sirens" whose blood sings to them. But because Eddy is a vegetarian he doesn't eat Bella.

    Go figure.

  5. It's simple- they aren't.  It's all lust and no love at all.  I believe Stephenie Meyer has a bit of a bad understanding of what love is, because, just as Romeo and Juliet before them, Bella and Edward are clearly not in love.

  6. When you meet someone that smells really good, you've got to assume that it's true love. Ah, the delights of love at first smell...

Kidding. They aren't in love. They went from infatuation to obsession. True love has nothing to do with either of those. Edward and Bella have a relationship based off of a pretty face and smelly blood.

  7. It's like- love at first sight.

There are a lot of different types of love.

And their love is the passionate love. The one that gets stuck in your head and the one lasts forever.

The circumstances helped that's for sure, but that's the thing. They did fall in love. And that's all that matters.

Sounds totally cliche, but whatever. Love happened.

  8. I think they do like "love" each other, but to the reader the problem is that there is no depth to their love. Like the person above me said, Bella found something captivating in Edward and Edward found her attractive and interesting. The problem  is, in most love stories it's not just a straight forward plot, there are twists and turns. And in Twilight, well lets just say is goes in a straight line--nothing interesting about their love and nothing interesting about the book. But i don't think it's true love, because Edward and Bella don't even have exciting conversations. The only thing they talk about is how Bella's going to die and "change me into a vampire" or "let me buy you a new car." There is no depth. Or at least, Stephenie Meyr didn't show us the depth of their love.

  9. They do love each other though. She didn't look in him just because he was so incredibly gorgeous, she did because there was something there about him that she found so captivating. And he found her attractive too but also so interesting because he couldnt read her thoughts. Right then he knew that there was something more to Bella than just her sweet blood. He would never had tried to save her from everything if he didnt love her and he still loved her even after she became a vampire and lost her sweet blood smell. Stephanie is working on making another twilight book but from edwards point of view, I think that book will help people understand their bond alot better

  10. Love at first smell! lol jk

Well we dnt know tht, she may have still liked him if he was ugly, but he did talk to her. Either way im sure he would introduced himself, love at first smell or not. O even though he cant read her thoughts or that he would. either way i think he would of introduced himself to be polite. It wasnt just one conversation, lol

  11. It's lyk larva at first site & Bella smells sooo gud to Edword & Edwurd is sooo HAWT & purty & sparkly Bella cant rezist.

Alright. That was so hard; I wouldn't be able to type like that for the life of me! Exhausting. Seriously though, there isn't a reason or explanation so don't hold your breath waiting for an explanation from Twihard Twilighters. They'll tell you it's fiction, it's life at first sight, it's destiny, it's fate--it's NOT THERE!! It's not REAL!! It's an unhealthy obsession with one's outer appearance that will--unfortunately--be there forever because these dreaded vampires are immortal and their looks are perserved forever. You can skim Twilight as many times as you want but you're not going to find the reason as to why they're in love.

You will however, find a reason as to why they're so infatuated with each other. Oh, plenty of proof for that one. Oh and one can only say they love each other if the word *love* is put in quotation marks. Yes. Edward and Bella "love" each other.

  12. Destiny. Hate to ruin it 4 ya but when you get 2 the last book you'll see what I mean. They marry and shes pregnant and it all goes well... so far anyway. I'm not all way done. They stayed through everything - even the 2nd or 3rd book when he had to leave 4 a long time. They got back to each other. It was MEANT TO BE!

  13. I completely agree with you. It was lust not love.

It was wanting what they couldn't have. She was the only one whose mind he couldn't read, so he was very curious and into it.

He was gorgeous and mysterious, didn't have a great personality but whatever, he was interesting and she was curious. Overall, both of them were just lustful.

  14. I completely agree. It's one of the many reasons I hate Twilight.

  15. I dont agree with you at all actually. Even Stephenie talks about how its such a beautiful "love story" do you think Edward would do all of this for Bella if he didnt love her? Or that Bella would be willing to sacrifce her human life for lust?? There love doenst have to make sense or be defined. But its simply very compelling and strong. They have a bond because something brought them closer together. Like I said before, love doesnt always make sense.

  16. I know! I always wanted to know why.
