Can you extract some oil from pandan flavoring?

yeah i know... silly question.... but that sure beats using 10 sacks pf pandan leaves for a small bottle of oil, I'm really confused...what should i do? it's for an investigatory project due next week. i'm gonna die

  1. If this pandan flavoring is an extract in ethanol, you could let the alcohol evaporate, and a small amount of oil will probably remain.  If the extraction was done using vegetable oil or something else nonvolatile as the solvent, this will not work.

    It is possible even that the flavoring could be synthetic - it will still contain the main compound, but will not have others, and therefore may not work for what you need.

    I could not find any pandan essential oil for sale online...
