Can you fall in love with someone you've never met?

my friend hooked me up with some kid, we started talking, he was really into me, but i didnt like him at all. We talked more and more and i started to be interested in him, we started to send pictures, and i loved it and so didnt he, i got really attached to him, and we stopped talking for a week or two, we started talking again and it all happened again, now recently he has told me to leave him alone, but i feel like from everything we did i cant just leave him alone, im truley hurt, i felt like he was the only true thing i ever had, and now its gone, any advice on what i should say?

  2. It was never a 'true thing' if it was only online. It was chat buddies. Love takes time and knowing someone personally to develop...it doesn't happen online. What you think you love or like is the fantasy in your head of who you think that person is or who you want them to be. Reality is likely quite different.

    If he's ready to be done with it, then move on. You cannot force someone to like you or want to keep in touch with you. Concentrate on people you can really get to know, and not mystery people online.

Online anyone can show you anything they want to be, even if it's not the real them.  You shared deeply with someone you didn't know.  But if you've never met the person in person, shared time with them face-to-face, you really can't be in love.  It's more that you are in love with the idea of them and what they presented themselves as.
