  1. Yes you can box professionaly if your still active, i dont know who it exactly was but there was a fighter not long ago who i remeber watching him fight and the commentator had mentioned that he was currently is the U.S. Army. wish i had more info for you on who it was.

  2. I fought professionally while in my 8th year

of my eventual 21 year Navy career..It was possible for me, primarily because I was on shore-duty in San Diego, California, for 4 years and my work schedule (in the navy), just happened to allow me time to pursue my dream.  Very hard to train here in Sunny and beautiful Southern California with all the attractions and all... I was 25 then and a single young man with no children but fighting or ESPN or USA-boxing had been a long-time dream of mine, long before I joined the Navy.  So I would not be destracted.. Had 3 bouts in L.A. and my final bout was on USA boxing on May 15th, 1990 against a Russian.. My dream come true!!!.. Had opportunities to fight in Hawaii and a few other outta' country venues and I could have came through as far as being in the Military was concerned.. I had my command's complete approval and support...

So pursue and  achieve your dream.. I did it!  Check my record on BOXCOM on the WEB... I'm in the archives for life!

                         Good Luck!  Tyrone King,

                          Former California Middle-

                            weight Contender...
