Can you figure out this electrical problem?

The electric plugs in my bathrooms (2 upstairs and 1 downstairs) don't work, all of a sudden. The lights in these bathrooms work. The electric plugs in the rest of the house work fine. What could be the problem? I checked the fuse board turning everything off then back on, but it didn't help. I want to know if I can fix this myself before I have to call in an electrician, whom I might not be able to afford anyway.

  1. Rats or Squirrels

  2. Something loose somewhere..Check and tighten every thing that went out(and any nearby outlets). The moron who wired your house daisy chained to save a few bucks on wire.

  3. It could take some tracing to locate ,you know, removing the plugs and throwing a meter on the wires to see where exactly your loosing voltage.Sounds like maybe a wire came loose from a breaker,or a GFCI receptacle is too blame.Reset them all before you call an electrician.

  4. It's probably a gfci plug in.........it has a reset button on it and all you have to do is push in and reset it.............sometimes they have tripped the breaker at your electrical panel.....and it won't look tripped so trip them all the way to the left and then back to the right.................good luck.

  5. This could be as simple as resetting  your GFI plugs. I don't know the age of your home, but these plugs have 2 little buttons located in the middle, on the front. These plugs are generally put in bathrooms, kitchens and your out side plugs check to see if one of the buttons have popped up and simply press in. I'd check all these plugs , also outside and reset , if needed. This could save you the cost of an electrician.

  6. It's probably a GFI.

Look for all the plugs in your bathroom and find one that has two buttons. One is a test and one is a reset. It's on the plug itself. Push the reset one in all the way.... maybe with your finger nail.

It probably connects to all 3.

Send me $200, if I'm right... then find the curling iron or hair dryer that caused them to blow.

Since you said "fuse board" instead of "fuse box" maybe you are in Europe. So send me £100.
