Can you file an unemployment insurance claim in a state in which you've never worked or lived? ?

I know for certain that there is one state which allows this, only so long as the claimant is *physically present* in that state during the time they file (even if they do not have a permanent address there).

Think carefully before you answer this question.

  1. Some states will allow you to do this, it's true.

    But. you are right that each state has its own rules and regulations. So, there are 50 different answers to your question, depending on which state you live in.

  3. i lived in alaska and moved to ny. i quit my last job and collected unemployment in NY.
