I was asking about the INTEREST AND PENALTIES. I know child support is not bankruptable.

  1. Not dischargeable in bankruptcy are student loans, back income taxes and other sums owed to the federal govt, child support, or interest or penalties on any of the above.  You might try negotiating a reduction in the interest & penalties if you catch up on the child support itself.

  2. Child support obligations are not discharged by bankruptcy.  If you are owed child support, make sure the trustee of the bankruptcy is notified of the amounts owed.
