  1. For a horse race yes. venue, selection and time.

  2. All you do is write the time of the race, the meeting and your choice of horse/dog the amount you want to bet and hand it in.

  3. To well.

  4. You will see lots of slips and little pens, take the slip to the counter and ask them to help you. They are usually very nice and helpful.  Tell them the name of the horse, the time and place of the race and how much you want to bet.

E.g. Redrum, in the 4:15 at Aintree. £5 to win

or you might want to bet each way, so if it`s £5 you wish to bet it will be £2.50 each way. You are betting £2.50 for the horse to win and £2.50 for it to get a place - usually 1st, 2nd or 3rd (sometimes 4th if there are a lot of horses in the race)

Don`t forget the golden rule, the one that gambling addicts don`t know! Only bet what you can afford to lose!

    Good luck.

  5. yeh cordylou is spot on.  I only bother betting on GN, Scottish GN and the derby.  But try to avoid being on first name terms with bookies.

  6. Yes they don't mind how they take your money!

  7. yeah they are easy just get the blank ones write the time of the race the horse u are backing to win then write how much you are betting. easy  if you are backing it each way just write under the horse for example £2 each way then write £4 in the little  box at the bottom.

  8. dont gamble its a mugs game (from a person who should know better but lost )

  9. yes you are meant to write your bet out  but they will help if u dont know how to and you ask nicely
