Can you find a person by their social security number?

someone is using my number but not my name I wanna find out is this a person I know, how did they get the number, how long have the been using it ect. and so on

it depends on who is looking. For instance, if I typed is your S.S. number at a bank you have an account with, I could see where your mail is sent. If I look it up at the DMV I could see where your driver's license says you are. But just on the regular internet, I haven't seen any way to do that. Good luck,and get a copy of your credit report.

Red flag, Red flag... call the police... this is the first step in identity theft.

call the Social Security Office and notify them that someone else is using your number they will check it out.

It's not all that hard to find SS #s unfortunately, especially if someone is willing to pay one of those "people finder" sites, it's all there!

of course you can the problem is that it takes time, and by the time that you find out they are already using an other number. I have seen many of these cases where I work. I remember ones that we had 4 Jose Fernandes in the same company all they were using the same social.

first notify social security and let them take care of it, if you haven't already.

you may never be able to figure out how they got the number, b/c they prob won't reveal that info to authorities, but depending on what they are using it for you can work w/ them to figure this all out. good luck w/ it all, that's a big deal.
