  1. You don't need a Travel Agency, but to give them credit, you can receive better and faster results if you encounter any type of problems. I am not sure about DFW - but I recommend "TACA Airlines" ...... Their main HUB / Corp. is San Salvador, El Salvador. They have been in business for over 60+ years and have a great safety record. You are flying at a expensive/complex time. If you want lower airfares you should consider leaving earlier - No matter who you travel through. If you can get yourself to Miami or LAX you will find better rates to Cent./So. America. Sometimes many Airlines have special offers from Wash. DC or DFW, .... TACA is excellent. If this is your first trip, then a Travel Agency may be your best bet, simply for resolving problems you may have. Otherwise the xtra $20. - $30. can go a long ways in Colombia. Good Luck & Be Careful in Bogota'. M - Swanson

  2. Apart from the obvious web pages already given to you, check directly with the Avianca web page or Taca or Copa. But really, that is super high season (Xmas and New Year!) and the best deals (althougn the tickets are quite high) for that season you'll only find it through the airlines themselves.

  3. Try using the website Despegar, you might find something there.

  4. go on cheaptickets or priceline where you can name your prize orbitz is good too.

  5. Thats High Season for Colombia!

Tickets are priced higher because of the Christmas/ New Years festivities....just remember that...and good idea to be shopping now for that.

When I fly to Colombia, I always go to a travel agency in my area....specifically one branch tailored around Colombia and other South American countries. I tend to find the best deals there compared to online because they are only focused on South America.

Look online on the various travel sites (travelzoo, orbitz, expedia, hotwire, travelocity, etc...)But also look into travel agencies in your area that focus on Latin America.

I live in NYC and the cheapest flight is going to Costa Rica via LACSA.....Personally...I pay the extra bucks and fly Directly with Avianca...but thats me....

    Good Luck

  6. try travelzoo.com- they have great random cheap rates...
