Can you find someone's IP address from their email?

If someone sends you an email, can you find out their IP address from the email? Also can you find out where they live?

yes, you can see IP and then check from which city this ip

open full email headers view and search for line, that looks like so:

Received: from 66.196.101.14 (HELO web59103.mail.re1.yahoo.com) (66.196.101.14) by mta218.mail.mud.yahoo.com with SMTP; Tue, 12 Aug 2008 14:48:34 -0700

66.196.101.14 are the source ip

finally, you could use any lookup online service, to see from where (geografically) are this ip address, but of course it will not be street/house, but provider (city) could have been determined

no u cant only ,government  agencies can obtain ip address by request from the mail hosting sites like yahoo
