  1. I just typed in My phone number in Yahoo search and found it  so, Yes, it can be done.

What you may want to do is put as much info as you know to see if it comes up.

I have also found many friends just by typing in FULL NAMES, AND ADDRESS  and the number was found - so it can be done both ways.

  2. Yeah you can do it, but you kind of have to be lucky to find the name.

Try to search for the phone number on search engines like Google in the following formats:

    "555-555-5555"

    555 "555-5555"

    "555-5555"

    555 "5555555"

(Quotation marks around the phone number will isolate the enclosed text and require the search engine to return an exact match for results to be displayed.)

Next, try searching on MySpace to see if they've put their number up on a profile. You could also try using BoardTracker.com to see if the phone number has been published on any major internet forums. After that, conduct a search on Kijiji.com, CraigsList.com, and USFreeAds.com to see if your subject has been advertising with their phone number displayed in the message.

If all that fails, it pretty much means you won't find out the address for free. Finding it for free depends entirely on whether or not the person put his or her contact details online for everyone to see -- which isn't very likely.

If you want to know for sure, you can use a reverse cell phone lookup service. You can do a free preliminary search at http://www.cellphonereverselookup.info to see if the records are available. Then you can choose a one-time lookup for $15 or a full membership which gets you unlimited searches for $40.

It's a pretty handy tool since I have to use it pretty often to do background checks on people for my business. Hope that helps...

  3. Not if it's a cell phone. Sometimes even searching the number in google will pop up a name if it's in the yellow pages. You can also try many reverse phone number websites. If it's unpublished you have to pay for a service usually.
