Can you fly to china with a firearm checked in?

Question

If anyone knows weather or not the government of china will allow you to travel with your firearm. I'm pretty sure I already know what the answer is but it doesn't hurt to ask.

No, in fact, you can enter any country with a firearm unless you have authorization from the government!

Don't be ridiculous, you will recieve 5-10 years of hard labour in a chinese gulang if you attempt to smuggle a firearm in your check in luggage, provided they dont find it when you leave your home country.

In Hong Kong you recieve a mandatory 6 month sentance just for having a single bullet in your possesion.

Privately owned guns are illegal in China.  There are shooting ranges in many cities, but the guns are rented.
