I heard a rumor that you can freeze IBC Root Beer without it exploding. I was wanting to know if this was true because that would be pretty sweet. I know that you can freeze Mountain Dew and it will only turn into a slushy but what about IBC Root beer?

  1. Sure you can. However, you need to pour it into another container first. Water expands when it freezes and this will cause the glass bottle to shatter. If you pour it into a cup first, it will be fine.

  2. If its plastic container then I don't think you need to worry that much.

However, if it is glass, it would probably freeze halfway and start to fizz from the top leaking and making sort of a mess before it explodes if it does that it.

  3. with any carbonated beverage you run the risk of it exploding on you
