I am planning to buy some Anpan and some Melonpan from a site and I need it to keep for the weekend of May 15-19. I was thinking of my options and if freezing would be a possibility.

I have emailed the grocer and haven't heard anything from them, so I turn to you all on Yahoo!Answers. Can you freeze Anpan and Melonpan to have it keep?

  1. Yes. It will keep longer, and will still taste good when you're ready to use it.

  2. I am a former chef and worked in japan and use to buy it there and have done the same here in Canada, it is fine to freeze, if your making it cool it first then refrig it for a day, then double bag it before freezing, and make sure to keep it off the bottom of the freezer, this keep it from getting freezer burn.

I used to buy the small ones and freeze them, and toasted them before going to work, they had never seen that done, at least not like that, even used them for french toast and bread pudding, once with persimmons and plum paste.
