I have quite a bit of cooked crab legs left over. I am putting them in the fridge tonight, but if they do not get eaten tomorrow can i out them in my deep freeze for another time? If so how long will the hold in the freezer & how do you suggest reheating them... thaw & re-boil for 5 minutes, re-boil from frozen or microwave. Thanks for any help :)

  1. You can freeze them but they might not be good after thaw them.

P.S. Most anything you put in the freezer will freeze

  2. NO i dont think you can refreeze anything thats already cooked....i would throw them away after tonight if no one eats it tomorrow. Next time try to cook only what you think is gonna get eaten cause that **** is expensive....lol you might even wanna eat it later tonight

  3. Yum!  I know this is a pain, but the first thing you should do is take them out of the shell.  That way you will surely have the meat eaten!

The rule about freezing fish is if you purchased it fresh, then you can cook it and freeze it.  If you purchase it previously frozen then do NOT re-freeze it.  The fish or seafood gets a really yucky texture!  When you freeze fish you should use it within a month.  It may be "safe" in that you would not get sick, but the texture gets tough and unappealing.

So, now that you have it out of the shell, you could use it in a fresh salad, or add mayonnaise, capers, sliced green onions and celery.  This is a great crab salad and can make an awesome sandwich.  And then again, heat up a little butter and enjoy your leftovers.  They will disappear quickly.
