I'd like to freeze a block of it to use later but am not sure how well it would handle being frozen and then defrosted. It's never been opened either.

  1. yes

  2. I freeze mine all the time.  When it's on sale, I buy several blocks at a time.  I just put them in the freezer in a freezer bag in the size I want to use when I take it out to refrigerate it.  You can put the sealed one right in the freezer without a freezer bag if you want.

  3. Yes do it all the time, butter too.

  4. yes just make sure you seal it properly if open.

  5. Yes you can!  You can even freeze milk!  It separates a bit, but you just have to mix it up.  I don't like fat free milk as well frozen though.  As far as cheese goes, I would perhaps have it already cut up.  I did this with a brick of cheese one time, but I didn't like the way that sliced afterwards.  People also have shredded cheese on pizza's and cheddar with others that have been frozen:)

  6. Yes, I do it all the time too.  Know it all is right, shredded cheese defrost better than block cheese.

  7. Well what i do is i shred it first and then freeze it and it defrosts just fine !  This is a great way to make sure your cheese doesn't get mouldy !
