Question:

Can you gain an inch in just 24 hours? or is that just water retention? please help!! 10 pts 4 best answer!?

k, so yesterday night, i measured my thighs, and i was a quarter of an inch away from my ideal size. i like to be 33.5" and i was 33.75" (yes i know a quarter of an inch is a bit obsessive, but whatever.) then i kind of ended up pigging out a bit on some cookies, and then tonight, some ice cream... and it wasn't like i really had anything all that bad other than those 2 minor "pig outs" but then i measured myself this evening and it says and nearly an entire inch bigger! is that even possible??? can that small amount of sugar along with a bit of careless eating really lead to that much??? or is it like some sort of water retention or something..? (i don't wear rings, so i can't tell by seeing if my rings r tight or anything)

  1. No you definitely can't. Most likely it's water retention. Salts from the cookies, humidity and muscles changes overnight could all cause this.

    Don't beat yourself up after treating yourself, it will make you more likely to do it again. It's ok to do this sometimes, get up the next day and do things differently, and don't measure your legs every day! Take an average at the most once a fortnight, I know it's tricky, but fluctuations like this just lead to making you overly anxious!
