I just got an email that says a kid got AIDS by eating pineapple from a vendor who had AIDS. Apparently, the vendor cut himself, and his blood contaminated the pineapple. Is this really true?

  1. diarrhea yes, AIDS no

  2. No, you can't.  That e-mail was fake.  That's why I love Snopes...links below.  I check out every weird e-mail I get, most of them are fake or scams.

  3. Check out www.snopes.com. This is a prolific email hoax that has absolutely no bearing on reality. Snopes isn't completely accurate in it's explanation why this can't happen. Merely removing blood from the body isn't enough to kill the HIV virus - if it were, there would be no risk of spreading the disease by a blood transfusion. However, it is true that when infected blood is exposed to the air, the virus quickly dies. Even if the story were true, which it isn't, the chances of contracting the disease by consuming contaminated blood is very slim.

  4. It seems true to me. But then again maybe I'm wrong.

  5. no the only way that kid could have gotten AIDS was if he had a cut  or open sore in his mouth and he ate the vendors blood.

www.LifeBeat.org  has a lot of information about AIDS/HIV if your asking this maybe you should check it out.

  6. Possible, but there is a very rare chance of it happening. I wouldn't believe it and wouldn't live my life in fear of pineapples in vendors (what the h**l kind of vendor vends pineapples anyways?!).
