  1. Of course.  Hairdressers often get it in both hands at the same time.  It's caused by too much repetitive motion.

  2. Yes you can.  I know I have it in both but I haven't elected to do anything about it yet.  My hands can go numb pretty easy especially when I am sleeping.  It can be either one of them and when it happens it wakes me up.  You should get them taken care of as should I.  One at a time so that one can get completely healed before you do the other one.

  3. yes

  4. Yes you can, I had it in both hands, and therefore had to have surgery on both wrists.

  5. Yes.  I'm no doctor, but think you should see a neurologist.  The neurologist can do tests to determine if you have it and how bad it is.

    Is there any treatment?

Initial treatment generally involves resting the affected hand and wrist for at least 2 weeks, avoiding activities that may worsen symptoms, and immobilizing the wrist in a splint to avoid further damage from twisting or bending.    Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and other nonprescription pain relievers, may ease pain.   Cool (ice) packs and prednisone (taken by mouth) or lidocaine (injected directly into the wrist) can relieve swelling and pressure on the median nerve and provide immediate, temporary relief.

  6. certainly, if you use both hands in a repetitive fashion over time.
