Can you get Mumps at the age of 55?

My 18 year old son has just recovered from a Mumps, (even though he had the MMR vacc.) , I am 55 and now have all the symptoms, swollen, painful face etc. I had mumps when I was about 5-6 years old and assumed I would be immune. Has anyone heard of anyone my age getting Mumps?

I am 47 .....I had mumps when I was 8 years old. a few days ago I was diagnosed with mumps? I had no idea that you could get it twice, but I am living proof that you can!
