im living in Dublin and I need to send a stamp addressed envelope to england , so the letter can be returned to me, but i just realised i will probably need to put Royal Mail / UK stamps on the envelope as irish stamp on it wouldnt be of use for the person from England sending it back to me. or am i overthinking this, would it still work if i put an irish stamp on it? i am thinking it wont. but how can i get a royal mail stamp here in ireland. can you get them in irish post offices ? im not sure how to solve this problem so i can send the letter off, thanks

  1. Go to the post office and aske to get the letter franked

This means the postage is paid

  2. You can buy them in the GPO in O'Connell Street.  You used to have to go to a side door but I think you can now get them in the main section.  Have done this myself

  3. It's doubtful that you can get British stamps in an Irish post office.  You could see if you can get them online...
