Question:

Can you get a 2nd MIP for drinking and not get your license suspended in michigan?

i was not driving in any way and i wasn't in a car, we were walking to the store down the street because we all knew no one better drive. my first one was differed so i know this one will go on my record as a first MIP but i dont know if it will be treated as one in court, does any one know? thanks!

  1. Depends.  

    Think that you can talk the judge into believing whatever your excuse is.  And that you should not be punished for violating the law.  Maybe he will just believe that you are a slow learner.

    Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.


  2. According to Pg. 22 of the linked MI booklet, I don't think it's optional but automatic suspension.  In fact, you could be facing other charges besides the license suspension under their repeat offender program!
