Can you get a clipping from desert rose plant?

Question

my dad wants to get a clipping from a desert rose plant but he does not know if you are able to do it for that plant. he does not want to kill the plant or the clipping he gets off of it

Clipping a bit off will not kill the main plant.In Nature, bits fall off all the time or the wind breaks them etc.I have never tried this one, if you mean "Adenium Obesum" but with similar plants, succulents, you would let the clipping dry for a couple of days before replanting and then not give it hardly any water for a long time or it will rot.
