Can you get a divorce in VA sooner than 1 year?

If my spouse committing adultery can I get a divorce sooner than a year we have 1 small child together and have been separated since January 2008. And I want a divorce now. Please any help?

  1. no, but only because of the child.  it would have to be an uncontested divorce.  call Michael Ephram in old-town alexandria.  He can hook you up.

    you would need to be separated for one year, living in two separate homes, for an entire year to even file.

  2. I really dont know how long divorce takes. Depends on both parties working together and not having to go through long battles. Like figure out who is having custody, visitation rights, household accounts, etc. so by the time you meet with your attorneys you will already have everything worked out and all they need to do is draft up the documents and you wait the grace period and sign. good luck. I will be going through that soon but im not in VA.
