  1. 15 1/2

  2. you have to be 15 years, 6 months.

take a driver's ed class ( i recommend community college for that )

you need to take the classroom AND behind the wheel

you will get two slips, take them and your birth certificate, and your parent to the DMV. you will take a written test.  If you pass (get less than 9 wrong), you will get your permit--its basically a few half sheets of paper stapled together.

It will cost a couple hundred dollars for the drivers ed, and about 30 for your permit. it will expire after a year.  you have to have a current permit to get your license.

when you have your permit, you have to have a licensed driver over the age of 25 in the front seat of the car at all times

  3. correction guys and gals... law was just changed in california. a driver cannot get theyre permit til they are 16. and cant get theyre license til they are 16 1/2

i have a feeling that they are slowly working their way up to 18 like MADD is presurizing them to do

(MADD needs to get lost. they make everyones lives harder)

  4. find the web site for your DMV.....

  5. no you have to be 15 1/2 ..you need to take drivers ed first and complete a certain amount of driving hours with an older person supervising then you can go to the dmv and get your permit
