hi there does anyone know if you can get a landline with out going through bt?

  1. U can sort of, but u have to ring bt to connect the line in the first place. There are tonnes of different companies you can go with!

  3. Just get Vonage thru your cable.

  4. yes quite a few companies do it now....such as orange etc..

  5. internet with no landine ,There are three options You can try 3g broadband from three or t mobile seem to be the best ,satellite broadband or you can get cable through virgin media  you dont seen bt for this the cheapest is three its 10 a month for wireless hspda internet (im a customer love it)

  6. excluding virgin media, you can use any of the companies that are out there. although they use the bt network you pay the rental to the company you sign up to. it will still be bt openreach engineers that do any work on the line though.

  7. Do you mean if you need a line to be connected to the exchange, from scratch!?  Then no, you'd need a BT engineer to do that, as BT own all the exchanges.  If you already have a phone line in the house, then you can switch providers, NTL for example.
