  1. Answer:

    yes,

every time we go skiing, we bring back tanned loads (and some ethnic group get sunburnt).

You usually don't win tanned within the cold because you stay indoors, and because your body stays covered. But the sun can still tan you if you're outside.

i can not belive you are acking that give somebody the third degree

    --------------------------------------...

Yes you can in the Tanning bed at good looks salons. Normaly costs money, instead outside NO.

    --------------------------------------...

Skiers tan by the side of the slopes .

Tanning has nil to do with temps , it is more or less sun exposure.

    --------------------------------------...

Yes. It is not how hot it is that makes you gain a tan but how bright it is/how intense the sun is. If, for example, you step skiing in the Alps contained by summer you'll find that you can get a suntan even though it's so cold, because the sun is so bright.

    --------------------------------------...

Yes. Tanning is caused by ultraviolet radiation. The northern hemisphere receive less of adjectives types of radiaition from the sun during the winter, but it still receives it. Plus, society usually expose less skin to the sun surrounded by winter.

And, clouds do not block UV rays.

  2. I worked in Antarctica for a few years and I assure you that you can get sunburn (hence suntan) at any temperature.

  3.   Well I guess you know now.

  4. Yes, tanning has nothing to do with temperature. You can get a tan and frostbite at the same time!

  5. Not a good tan.

  6. Yes and even on a cloudy day  you can  still  get a tan , I got one in the winter ,when we have  been on our boat and  its been only  10 deg c I got burnt on my face and neck.

  7. some people even wear sunblock in the winter

  8. yes

  9. if the sun is out yes

  10. Of course. If your skin is exposed and it's sunny out, you'll tan regardless of the air temperature. Note the deeply tanned faces of famous Arctic explorers of the past and sno-ski bums of the present.

  11. That depends.

    Is it sunny?

A sun tan doesn't depend on temperature, but on how much light is coming from the sun (actually it depends only on UV light). You can get a tan while it's freezing, just ask anyone who has gone skiing.

You only need the sun to be out, you don't need the heat.
