  1. No, it's not possible.

  2. Hello!

Teacher Unions, colleges, and professional organizations have fought for certain requirements to exist for teacher certification.  Having a Bachelor's Degree is only one of them.  If you have a BA or BS already, you may be able to obtain a temporary certification, but you will also be expected to enroll in courses to obtain the required class work.

  3. No, it is required to have a BA degree before you can apply for a credential. These rules apply in CA, however you should check with your local Board of Education.

  4. This is actually a 2 part answer. Teaching Credentials as in a teaching licenses, NO. A temporary cert to teach, YES.

Example: If you want to teach BUSINESS in a high school and  you have a BA in Business, most states can get you a temporary certificate based on your background. Now, the question is, will they do it? REALIZING, you may not be the top choice, you will have to sell yourself and WHY you want to do it.

  5. No way.  You gotta have the degree and then the credential program, and the authorization to teach English language learners, and do not to forget the CBEST, CSET, and RICA..state exams for proficiency.  California is one of the toughest places in the country to get your credential.  Trust.  However, you can apply for an emergency credential with a BA or BS, but you have to be employed by a school district as a substitute teacher in order to apply for those.  If you sub, you do not have to take additional course work....if that's all you plan on doing.
