You know with mobile phones you can get bluetooth handsets etc. what about for landlines? I know they have those headset things they use in call centres but is there anything wireless hands free.

what about a hands free thing for skype (when using it from the PC) ?

I want to be able to do things around the house while I talk on the phone.

  1. yes....if your base-phone has bluetooth capability!! The Uniden has such a flip phone very small like a cell-phone looking thing you can carry on your belt...or the skype wifi phones....and or the new skype phones where you don't even need a computer, just wifi-max!!

I have the Uniden phone with bluetooth, its very easy so install....there is also a Panasonic with bluetooth capability

the cheapest set you will find at amazon.com!!

  2. RadioShack used to sell them.

The one I bought, catalogue number 43-1101, is no longer listed on their site but perhaps they introduced a similar replacement.

  3. Plantronics is probably the best known headset company in North America for home and PC use.  They also tend to be the most expensive, but high quality.  They have numerous wireless headset options available for home, PC, or cell. Often resellers such as Buy.com, VoIPSupply, shop.com, etc., are cheaper than buying from Plantronics direct.

While Bluetooth may be a good option for working around your PC, it may not be the best if you want to wander around the house as Bluetooth range maxes-out at about 30 ft.

But regular wireless (non-Bluetooth) can work up to 300 ft.

Plantronic solutions can work with Skype too with your PC.

I have numerous resellers listed on my web site (see my profile for link).
