Can you get an athletes foot infection on your hands?

My son plays football and has, without my knowledge, been wearing dirty, sweaty receiving gloves from last year. Could he get an infection on his hands? Can I bleach the gloves to remove any germs?

Yes, it could be the same fungus that causes athletes foot on his hands.  I don't know about bleaching the gloves since I don't know what material the gloves are made of.
