Can you get arrested for not paying for subway 10 pts

like when people just pay for one and two people go threw

or when people duck and go uderneath it

well my mom said not to ever do it

cause you can get arrested

so would the police actually take you to jail for that or just kick out and either make you pay or leave the station???

Yes you can get arrest.  If you have valid ID, they will just give you a ticket (summons).  But if you have NO ID, then they have to arrest you to make an identification of who you are, then they also give you a summons.

Some cop will not arrest you if he/she feels lazy.  But ever since Gulliani (the mayor), they made it a policy to arrest or summon every turnstile jumper.

P.S.  I also live in NYC - since 1972.  The guy above might have gotten lucky.  But does NOT mean that you will get lucky and not get arrested.  It is really a stupid thing to do - especially if you are not hurting for money real bad.

In theory you can get arrested.  

In practice, they'll probably just slap you with a ticket for a couple hundred bucks and let you go.  They have more important things to do.

you will not get arrested, just thrown out. haha i live in NYC so i've tried it. they just make you get off at the next place if it's a ticket system. but u won't go to jail no worries.
