  1. No.

As long as you didn't harass or cause defamation towards them you're fine.

  2. No you can't get arrested you've broken no Federal or State laws, UNLESS you've stolen personal identification information such as credit cards/Social Security numbers etc. Logging into somones myspace is not a federal offense. Stealing personal information is though. Additionally if you hacked his computer a.k.a Installed a worm or a virus into his system and harmed his computer you could face charges under the 1988 Computer fraud Act.

  3. Be careful. If this occurs again, immediately sign out and never let it happen again. It can lead you into trouble. Do not read anyone else's emails. I nearly entered the coronation street myspace for rosie webster by accident, by using a local library pc. I contacted her and told her about this and I'm sure she will not let it happen again. Strong passwords and always log out.

  4. reading mail is illegal.

    signing in isnt..

the most you can get is a fine.

    but you have no worries.

this happens everyday and nothing happens.

  5. I dont think you can be arrested, but if you have ruined somebodys reputation, when they could have made money I guess you could be sued.

really unlikely tho, most people just bluff.

  6. Absolutely no chance you'd get arrested unless you took information from their email to harm them financially.

The only way you could get in trouble is if it was a company or school email that you tampered with such that it could get that person in trouble.

For example:  I log into Sam's college email and write a nasty email to one of his professors. <-- that is bad

Now, lets remind ourselves that logging into and reading other peoples emails IS illegal, but regardless, it should NOT be done, as those are private messeges.

  7. of course you can get arrested.

theft doesn't have to be stealing an item, it can be stealing a service such a tapping into someones electricity or using someones wifi service.

OR any other service, such as MySpace!

Ultimately you can get arrested for it, but lets face it, no one really cares. If your unlucky and the person insists then you will probably be cautioned. But i have a feeling this is the case of kids getting over excited about nothing.

  8. If you went through all the mail and tampered and sent false e-mails (because it's not yours), then yes.

    Otherwise, no.

    Hope I helped :)

  9. I believe the death penalty is required in some states!

  10. i think they are just trying to make you scared.

im pretty sure there are no reasons for the police to put you in jail, but i think it is a seriousl breech of privacy.

myspace is so public i dont think it really matters personally.

just dont worry, but my suggestion would be, dont do it again.
