  1. No. Your insurance company will charge you a rate based on the state and/or county you keep and register the car in (which is the state/county you live in 99.9% of the time). Anything you do to hide that info from an insurance company to get a lower rate is insurance fraud.

You'll want to research this some more....

    Have a nice day.

  2. The insurance agent or company doesn't have to be in your state, however, they have to be licenced to write insurance in your state.  Your rates are partly based on your residence, and the exposure associated with it, so, you can't get the rates from one state while living in another without insuring to a fraudulent address.  In the event you are caught up after making a claim, it can invalidate all your coverages.

If you want the rate from another city, state, county, whatever, MOVE THERE!

  3. For automobile insurance the best way to get a great quote is do a rate comparison on car policies. Make certain that you pick similar options with the same limits, car model, zip code, etc so that all things are an accurate comparison.

What I always recommend is an internet comparison quote at http://www.InsureAutoNow.info since they have discount insurers and can give many prices on auto insurance polices.

  4. Generally: NO

Most states license insurance companies, and if the company you want to insure with isn't licensed to write policies where you live, you can't.

  5. I assuming no if the company doesn't cover your state. They have to cover you state or else, I would say no.
