I had a miscarriage on Monday. I have completely quit bleeding (I was only 5 weeks and no D&C). My husband and I had s*x last night. Can we get pregnant 5 days after a miscarriage? I was thinking we couldn't but now I am a little worried that we can.

  1. YES YES and YES!  I had a misscaraige back in Oct.  I stopped bleeding and within 7 days I was pregnant again!!!!  I was only 6 weeks.  You are way more opened up after a misscaraige therefore your chances are greater

  2. it is very well possible that you can. it depends on if your body ovulated when you miscarried. it is a known fact that your body is more fertile after a miscarriage or a d&c or even giving birth.

  3. yes you can!

  4. No it is not likely.  My gynae told me that after a miscarriage you still carry the hcg hormone for some weeks and this suppresses your ovaries making ovulation impossible.  It is very common to have a bleed after a miscarriage normally around the time that your period would have been due but this is not a sign of ovulation it shows your hormones are getting back to normal, so basically the first opportunity of pregnancy after a miscarriage would be after 1 period although they advise you to await 2 normal periods before you start trying again. Hope this helps

  5. It's very possible so yes, be aware that this could happen. However, I wanted to let you know that the hCG hormone can stay in your body for 6 weeks or so after a pregnancy. So if you get a positive test result when you're expecting your period this month, it absolutely could be from a new pregnancy, but it could also be 'left-over hormones' from the previous pregnancy. Just wanted to warn you as this could cause unnecessary heartache and give you a 'false positive' home pregnancy test result  :(  Good luck!
