Can you get dry socket on a top tooth?

can you get a dry socket on the top tooth? its been 8 days it happened last wen. i was juts eating lunch and i washed out my mouth and while i was wshing out my mouth something brownish but looked like food bits it could have been becuase i has coffee and pound cake this morning didnt wash because was in a meeting then for lunch had some pasta with red sause. then after i wash with warm salt water. the tooth has been hurting mildy since this morning. its the top tooth as well can i have dry socket on it?

yes, you may have washed away the clot.  go back to dentist if pain continues or worsens.

It is not a dry socket from what you have described. Plus if you had a dry socket you would be in Severe pain
