  1. The Army has a h**l of a lot more schools than that.  I don't need to mention all the medical schools, but those you listed are doable.

  2. It depends on the unit, because when you are sent to a school it comes out of your unit's budget. If you're in a USSOC unit, you'll have a better chance of getting more schools due to the requirements and high budget. However, getting a lot of schools within a regular unit is sometimes quite difficult due to budget and performance issues. There really isn't a need for SCUBA or SERE school for someone who does finance stuff in a leg unit. Get my point?

So no.... unless you're in a unit that offers a lot of opportunities, such as the 75th Ranger Regiment or SF Groups, you're not going to have much luck.

  3. Not sure on some schools, but when I joined the Army 22 years ago I had airborne school IN my contract. And as long as I passed the physical for it I could go, which I did.(after basic and AIT)  And as far as air assault school, I was stationed at Ft Campbell which is where this school is located.  Upon arrival the school was offered to me.  At the time the General wanted all of his troops there (regardless of MOS or s*x) to be air assault qualified.  I'm sure that still stands today!

    Go Airborne!

  4. Nope! You have to qualify and be recommended. Very few get to where you just mentioned. Very few! Even many of the Marines flunk the PT test for Ranger School!
