Can you get excused from a SUBPOENA?

Let's say i was too frightened to testify in court for my own safety precautions...can i get an excuse from the D.A.?

  1. Not for anything but a severe medical reaason will you be excused; and even then, you'll end up testifying by affidavit at least.


  2. I didn't have to testify in court because i lived out of state and they had enough witnesses so call and ask if you can get out of it they might let you or offer witness protection.

  3. You can try.  Chances are, if you are in real danger, the DA will put you in protective custody.  If your testimony is material to the case, they won't just let you walk away.

  4. No, they will make allowances, and let you do a closed session taping of your testimony, but you still have to testify.
