Yes, it is linked with an allele in your genes that is the code for the production of red hair, so if you have red hair you most likely have freckles too...  it usually runs in the family.

Yes, you can get freckles because of your genes.  I was born with freckles.  It is also a trait of fair skin, especially red heads.

IDK cuz my mom's generation doesn't have freckles nobody in my family ....

okay-I just have to say this: I have the darkest brown hair, and freckles bad, my daughter has redhair and doesn't have any! lol

Yes. But I have freckles because my momma raised me to believe freckles are good --- I done learnt to have freckles like an upstanding citizen.
