Can you get gold stars on Rock Band for Wii?

Yes. You can get Gold Stars on any version of the game. However, you must be playing on Expert level. You get Gold stars when you get a high enough score.

You don't need to get 100% of the notes; you just need to get a score that is 15% higher than the score needed for 5 stars. The number isn't important really.

Just play the song exceptionally well, don't miss too many notes and use Overdrive at the right places and you'll get a Gold Star.

i dont really know but i guess it should since when i play on my PS3 i got gold stars when i was playing mississippi queen on expert but i think there are gold stars if you play without missing any notes
