  1. One can get headaches due to stress. Such headaches are now called tension headaches. In some tension headaches occur but the sufferers do not give any causes of tension

Usually the headache is felt behind or on the sides of the head, mild to moderate , and sometimes felt like a tight band on the head. The pain is sometimes in the neck.

If the headache is causing you much problems or if really severe or associated with vomiting  or is after a head injury or is associated with vomiting or visual aura it may not be a tension head ache.

Relaxation techniques , yoga , massage therapy, regular exercise help in alleviating tension headaches.

Drugs like Acetaminophen,. Ibuprofen, Tylenol can be taken not more than on 2 days of a week.

In management stress reducing measures should be taken and it is best to take drugs when really needed.

    I am a medical doctor.
