  1. You can do online home schooling programs through most universities. A good one is Brigham Young University (BYU)

  2. Sure!  There are many avenues available for online homeschooling.  Here's some information for you:

    Good luck!

  3. Some states provide online school for free.  If you don't live in such a state, you will have to pay.  I have seen as low as $600  up to as high as $3000+ per year.  It all depends on what you go with.

The free school offered by some states is almost exactly what you'd get if you went to school, only you submit your lessons online.

The ones you pay for can be from a company (like education direct) or from a university.  If you are interested in a private company, MAKE SURE THEY ARE ACCREDITED!  This means you will get a bona fide diploma.  The university would be more expensive, because you pay for each course, and if it's out of your state, you have to pay an out-of-state fee, but you'd be getting a lot for the money.

Some home schoolers "do their own thing" for curriculum, but with that approach, you don't get a diploma from an accredited institution, and that's a whole other subject...

  5. Depends on the homeschool rules for your state.

Our state is very homeschool friendly and we can create our own curriculum.  I want my son to get to the place where he can create his own curriculum and be self directed in his studies.

Do research for rules for your state.  Do research on homeschool philosophy and determine which ideas line up with your goals, talents, interests, etc.    Make sure you learn the things that will be needed to meet your goals.

Example:  If you plan on going to a 4 year college, make sure you have completed courses in your transcript.

My son is in the 10th grade, having been homeschooled since the 8th.   He decided this year that he wants to go to a 4 year college.  It may mean another year of studying at home to get the 'credits' he needs, but it can be done.  He previously had planned on community college and we were planning his studies to meet that goal.

    Good luck.

  6. Depending on where you live you could be able to go to an online charter school for free. There are other private programs be careful investigate them first. There are even unschooling programs. I would first look into the type of curriculum you like, and if you like on-line classes.

I can tell you how my college on-line classes are:

class A- I have to log in 2x a week at least, answer x amount of posts, read book, do unit paper, write 2 guided journals a week, take unit tests

Class B- Log in 2x a week, read chapter, do all activities and one project turn in once a week, test every two chapters

Class C- log in to take tests every 2 weeks, everything else is extra credit

Class D- get sections done by due date usually 1 month

  7. Yes, you can for all grades.
