Can you get in trouble for changing file names in school system?

I was messing around and changed one of the teachers Quiz files from "Ch. 3 Astronomy Test" to "g*y".

That sounds like a hole in their security.  As a student you shouldn't have been able to get into the directory to change the file name in the first place.  Seems like the network administrator is sleeping on the job.  If they're that lax in the setup of the network, they probably don't have the means of finding out who did it.  If you're found out though, you can get in trouble.

You can get anything from suspension to expulsion. It depends on how far your teacher wants to push it, and if she can prove that it was you that done it.
