I need money and this place is looking for masseuses. If some women were doing nasty things to their clients and I wasn't, but I was there, could I get arrested?

  1. Working as a masseuse can be a real job, but I recommend that you do your homework before applying for the job. Drop by and check it out -- you should get a gut reaction on site -- and maybe ask around, etc.

But, no, if you weren't doing anything, then it shouldn't matter that somebody else was giving the clients hummers...

  2. You should have watched 20/20 last night! Get a real job.

  3. I don't know how to answer this question, but I'd check with the Better Business Bureau and your local PD or any law enforcement agency and find out what the business' reputation happens to be and what their history is.  Now, I've heard from some males regarding this, and yes, they have claimed the masseuses do a good job, and yes, there is also prostitution, but then again, even I asked them about this, what if the clients and the employees get arrested?  Then what?  So far, they haven't admitted whether or not, it's happened to them.

And yes, shows like 20/20 (I didn't see this particular episode) state that these massage parlors are run by immigrants who happen to be illegal themselves, as well as the employees who are there to work off a debt to the smugglers.  Basically, held there against their will.  Yes, these businesses can be fronts of other kinds of illegal activities.  Now, from what I've been told on the other side coin from a law enforcement point of view, it's nothing more than a w***e house disguised as a massage parlor.  It's no different, the employer keeps a majority of the money and there's constant raids in those places and everyone gets arrested, just for being there.  How true that is, is unknown to me.  I'm here in the Los Angeles area.

Check out the places before you decide to work there, that's the advice I can think of, because like you, yes, I'm curious myself if that happens.  Good luck and keep the rest of posted if you can, regarding this dilemma.
