  1. Usually, there is a statute of limitations on a crime. I would say no, but again, it depends on the crime.


  2. Depends on the crime.  Most have a "statute of limitations", murder does not.

    So if you killed someone, you are SOL.

    The amount of time that they have to charge you is called a "statute of limitations" and it may vary from state to state. Some crimes don't have any limitations period, which means you can still get in trouble for it, no matter how much time has passed.  Other crimes have shorter limitations periods, such as 3 or 4 years.

    Because these laws vary so much, we can't give you any more detail than  "Maybe."

  4. if you were found guilty, and it's the same crime, yes.
