top 5% on ACT and SAT, 10 AP classes with 4s and 5s on all of the essays, top 3% in a class of 400, research experience, volunteer work, and an amazing essay?

4.8 weighted

All of the classes I took were honors or accelerated.

I'm talking about a university in the top 10. I know my gpa is a little bit low, but will the difficulty of my courses make up for that?

  1. of course you can, you have a great GPA

  2. Top 10? No. That's unlikely with an SAT that isn't top 2% and a GPA that doesn't put you at the top of your class.

  3. Only if your talking Ivy's. But you know I know someone who got into Cornell and Columbia with a 3.7 too, but didn't get into NYU. NYU, USC, UC's, Any State school, Fordham, Boston U, Suny's  are some choices.... You will get into a great college!

  4. That's a good GPA and a good track record academically. Do you know what you want to study? What's your career choice? Trust in your accomplishments, not every high schooler has them :)

  5. Definitely got a shot. Never a sure thing with the top 10, but in no way are you on the outs because of a 3.7, when compared to all the other stuff you've accomplished.
