Can you get into trouble for just leaving your car in impound?

Do you ever want the car back?  If not I don't believe you will be in any trouble as they will auction it off if you don't claim it in time.  If you want it back and leave it there for a few days/weeks look at paying alot to get it back.

Yes  you can. The impound lot is charging you a daily rate for storage. If you fail to pick up the vehicle it will be sold at an auction for money owed. If it does not sell for what is owed they can bill you for the difference.
