such. If so, how much do you get per can? I know recycling companies get money for recycling things, but can an individual do it by only recycling regular food cans?

  1. No you can't. The only reason why you get money back from soda bottles is because when you buy the soda, they charge you extra money (ex. 5 cents in MA)... and you only get the money back if you recycle.

...I would say whoever came up with it was pretty smart.

  2. you can it will say on the can,if not ask your local council ,they should help you.but i think you would have to have a large qty to take to gain any money back, you must check on weights as that is what any company of metal will go on.hope this helps.or phone your enviroment council up its in the phone book ,jo

  3. You can get money for any metal if you bring it to a scrap dealer. Today's prices for aluminum are $.75 -1.00/lb and steel is selling for $120-150/ton. For the effort involved it is not usually worth it for an individual to sell scrap steel. Non ferrous metals are where the money is.

  4. Depending on where you are located (i didn't look) you might be able to use a Scrap metal facility to get money for aluminum cans.  Here in SWVA the local scrap yard gives you .55 per pound.  Therefore, 1 can = 1 cents approx.  (yes, i weighed them to come to that figure).  It might not seem like a lot until you have acquired 10 lbs of cans from the side of the road, lol.

I keep mine, wash them out, and crush them for a year then trade them in for about $22 which in turn pays for my propane tank on my bbq grill.  :)

Some facilities do and do not take in food cans due to the lack of responsibility to wash them out thouroghly.

  5. Probably, but you'd have to check around to find a recycling station that will take them and what their guidelines are.  Good luck.

  6. yes and it should say it on the can and if not most likely about 5 cents each but you can money 4 any metal

  7. Yes you can, any scrap yard in Flint town will take metal cans. Of course you will be paid by the ton (2000 lbs) about $150 or so, so you might need to save them up for a while.

  8. yes you can, many restraints, and the California dep. of corrections recycle cans.

  9. Where i live there isn't a recycling place for food cans but a friend of mine who is kind of a penny pincher takes his old food cans to the scrap yard in town and they pay him for the total weight of the cans, but this is kind of hard because they make him clean out any food residue before they accept them.

  10. Yes you can but you need to have a volume to earn considerable amount of money. The price depends on your location. Even if you don't earn enough cash it is fulfilling that you are helping the earth minimize energy consumption since recycling save the energy needed to purify the tins that are mined elsewhere. Do recycle please.

  11. yes thay buy thim as tin at 4.00 per hundred pounds its not worth it

  12. yes you can,but you'll need a lot to make some profit out of it
